WorldStrides is seeking an Educational Tour Consultant (Outside Sales) to support our growing business across the country. The Educational Tour Consultant is focused on developing key relationships with teachers and administrators to offer domestic and international travel programs to schools across a designated territory. This position will require the successful applicant to develop business through outbound phone calls and in person meetings, assist with parent presentations , represent the company at client events, and develop and execute the sales strategy for a designated region.

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Proven track record of success in sales with 3+ years of experience focusing on new business development and/or account management
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights or weekends as needed
  • Exceptional presentation and public speaking skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to work on multiple tasks; strong attention to detail; interpersonal skills; positive, solution-oriented attitude
  • Travel is required - must be able to drive and own a car, must be comfortable with airline travel
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office applications including: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • High level ability to remain focused and self-motivated in order to persistently pursue new program interest
  • Must be coachable, goal-oriented, and have strong management skills.
  • Strong computer skills with ability to learn in house programs such as Trip Desk, Microsoft Dynamics, internet research, MyTrip, and CLIC
  • Knowledge of Washington D.C. and international travel experience is preferred

Essential Functions:

  1. Review, refine and expand the current database of contacts within your designated territory
  2. Phone and e-mail communications to secure appointments with the relevant educators and administrators
  3. Generate leads and close business for the WorldStrides international and domestic product offerings
  4. Travel to scheduled meetings, presentations and conferences 
  5. Meet with Teachers, Administrators, Global Travel Coordinators or Heads of Department, as a means of lead generation for the WorldStrides product lines
  6. Provide formal presentations to potential school groups or give PowerPoint presentations to classes
  7. Maintain and monitor all progress, contacts and personal sales activity through Maximizer/Microsoft Dynamics
  8. While on the road, maintain communication with clients, prepare notes and written responses and follow ups from the day’s meetings, and enter any new contacts secured in Maximizer/Microsoft Dynamics
  9. Utilize in-house resources to research potential new customers.
  10. Maintain accurate and up-to-date computer records and documentation on all customer data, telephone contact, and written correspondence.
  11. Strategize to meet specific sales targets and increase total sales at assigned schools in your region
  12. Ensure responsiveness to customer requests for tour proposals and information
  13. Ensure client liaison, proposals and costings maintain the required high standard of accuracy and quality
