Movies have long been a great way to entertain, educate, and inspire. What you may not have considered is that movies, TV programs, and other content, when purchased, rented or streamed, are intended for personal, private use only. More importantly, they require a license when shown in public.
In 1986, MPLC embarked on a journey to make it as simple and easy as possible for the public to obtain a license to exhibit movies, TV, and other content outside of the home. Since the introduction of MPLC’s pioneering Umbrella License®, we have come a long way, now representing nearly 750 rightsholders, with local presence in over 30 countries around the globe.
We tend to forget about the creative community behind the scenes and the need to protect intellectual property for the continued development of the content we all know and love.
Our goal is to advise in the best way we can as we continue to provide a licensing solution that works for both you and our rightsholders.
