What you will do As a Business Development Manager based in Portland, you will work with Klarna's largest and most strategic merchants to uncover growth opportunities and deliver scalable, value-driven solutions across our partner ecosystem. You will take full ownership of your portfolio, building and nurturing executive-level relationships while driving commercial outcomes that advance Klarna's position in the market. In this position, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy, identifying opportunities to deepen partner engagement and translating merchant needs into actionable strategies that deliver measurable impact. You will collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams across product, marketing, and analytics to bring the right solutions to your partners at the right time. Success in this position requires someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, embraces continuous change, and leads with a strategic yet hands-on approach. Who you are 5+ years of experience in business development, account management, or sales, with a demonstrated track record of managing strategic partner or merchant relationships Proven ability to engage and present confidently to C-level and senior executive stakeholders Experience in e-commerce, retail, or payments, with a strong understanding of how these ecosystems intersect Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and partners simultaneously without losing attention to detail A proactive, self-starting mindset with the ability to take initiative and drive projects forward independently in a dynamic, fast-evolving environment Strong leadership instincts with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment without direct authority Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences Proficiency in building and analyzing Pu0026Ls, with the ability to translate financial insights into strategic partner recommendations Strong negotiation skills with experience structuring and closing complex commercial agreements Proven ability to create and lead effective business reviews that drive accountability and identify growth opportunities A natural networker with the ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships across industries and seniority levels Awesome to have Experience working within or alongside payments platforms, fintech, or financial services Familiarity with CRM tools and data analysis platforms used to track and optimize partner performance Experience navigating organizational change and thriving within companies undergoing rapid growth or transformation Advanced degree or relevant certifications in business, commerce, or a related field Please include a CV in English Curious to learn more about Klarna and what it's like to work here?
