The Regional Director Sales, Specialty Medical Products (RD) is responsible for leading a team of sales specialists who are tasked to significantly grow the business and optimize positive outcomes with new and existing acute care customers. They accomplish this through product and service differentiation. Collaboration and people leadership are key attributes required for success in this role as well as being accountable for portfolio expansion, strengthening customer relationships, and leveraging GPO contracts. This leader will direct a team of nine and closely collaborate with other regional sales directors who each lead a team of similar size and aligned goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead & Develop High-Performing Teams: Recruit, mentor, and develop a team of Specialty Medical Products Representatives, empowering them to exceed sales targets and optimize product mix within their assigned territories. Drive performance through strategic coaching, joint field visits, and collaborative account strategy development.
  • Drive Growth & Market Penetration: Cultivate and expand key client relationships through strategic customer site visits, impactful product presentations, educational seminars, and comprehensive in-service training programs to accelerate revenue growth and market share.
  • Ensure Customer Success & Retention: Guarantee exceptional customer satisfaction and build strong, lasting partnerships through proactive account management.
  • Strategic Planning & Sales Execution: Conduct comprehensive performance evaluations and provide continuous coaching, focusing on advanced account strategy, effective selling techniques, and professional growth. Leverage in-depth customer profile analysis to develop and execute strategic action plans that enhance customer satisfaction and drive measurable financial improvements.
  • Reporting & Business Acumen: Prepare and present insightful reports and analyses for senior management, including strategic business plans, succession plans, and comprehensive monthly status/variance reports, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
  • Operational Excellence & Change Leadership: Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures. Champion organizational change initiatives, effectively guiding the team through transitions to achieve critical business objectives.
  • Collaborate & Strategize: Work closely with other Regional Sales Directors to define and optimize territory management objectives, ensuring alignment with broader regional and national sales strategies. Proactively undertake additional responsibilities to consistently achieve and exceed sales goals.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of sales leadership experience; medical device preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in the acute care setting selling Medical Device/Products, Services or Solutions.
  • Proven leadership capabilities, including ability to manage diverse personalities/skill sets in a changing environment. Ability to attract, develop, and retain outstanding diverse talent.
  • Strong sales execution mindset and ability to assemble and manage customer deals. Track record of achieving results and effectively managing through ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Strong planning, forecasting, financial and negotiation skills.
  • Executive presence, solid presentation and communication capabilities.
  • Ability to travel 50% domestically, booking travel according to Cardinal Healths travel policy.
  • Customer/Vendor credentialing may be required (this may include vaccinations). More details will be provided if you are selected.
  • Lives within the region. Ability to work remotely from home/field requires a dedicated, quiet, private, distraction free environment with access to high-speed internet. We will provide you with the computer, technology and equipment needed to successfully perform your job. You will be responsible for providing high-speed internet & cell phone.

Anticipated salary range: $193,000 - $241,000 (includes variable pay)

* The salary range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidates geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.
