Position Summary:
The Regional Director of Business Development serves as a key leader in advancing growth across Lifepoint Behavioral Health. This role is responsible for building and executing scalable growth strategies, strengthening referral networks, and expanding the division's market presence. In partnership with clinical, operational, and marketing teams, the Regional Director ensures that business development initiatives align with the organization's mission of delivering exceptional behavioral health services.

This position requires a strategic, data-driven leader with strong healthcare business acumen and a proven ability to drive market growth and team performance.

  • Develop and implement regional growth strategies aligned with organizational business goals.
  • Lead initiatives to increase patient volume, expand access, and strengthen service-line awareness.
  • Conduct market analyses to identify opportunities for expansion, service-line development, and partnerships.
  • Oversee regional marketing and brand strategies, ensuring alignment with referral development and consumer acquisition goals.
  • Serve as a key contributor in organizational growth discussions and leadership forums.
  • Build and maintain strong referral relationships with hospitals, physicians, EAPs, mental health providers, schools, social service agencies, and payers.
  • Develop referral frameworks using CRM systems, data analytics, and outreach best practices.
  • Monitor competitive and payer landscapes to adjust strategies and optimize referral outcomes.
  • Provide direct leadership, coaching, and mentorship to facility-level business development leaders.
  • Set clear KPIs, growth targets, and accountability standards across the region.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, field visits, and pipeline reviews to ensure consistent execution and results.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Design and implement scalable business development tools, processes, and reporting systems.
  • Partner with marketing to align messaging, materials, and digital strategies.
  • Collaborate with admissions, clinical, and operational teams to ensure seamless patient transitions from referral to service delivery.
  • Provide professional development and ongoing training for local business development staff.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable regulatory standards.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field required; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive business development experience in healthcare; behavioral health or addiction services are strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of increasing patient volume, building referral networks, and expanding market presence.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulatory and payer environments.
