The Business Development Representative is a sales professional who is responsible for contacting potential customers through outbound cold calls, site visits, customer locations, and emails to drive customer interest in the products or services their company has to offer. Business Development Representatives will work alongside the Construction Managers by scheduling appointments or passing potential leads on to them.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to achieve company goals and objectives
  • Demonstrated customer service experience
  • Knowledge of CRM (Microsoft Dynamics), preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to plan, organize, and prioritize work with little or no supervision
  • Degree in marketing, business, construction management, or a similar area
  • Travel to project sites, or other APi Inc company locations as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and translate data into insights to assist in building strategic sales initiative plans and assess the impact of marketing campaigns
  • Prospecting - support lead generation through researching prospective companies - identifying, contacting, and qualifying leads within accounts
  • Improve market segmentation and data tracking within the CRM (Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Document all sales and lead generations
  • Qualify leads as sales opportunities
  • Contact potential clients through cold calls, in person interactions, and emails
  • Present our company to potential clients
  • Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products/services
  • Customize product solutions to increase customer satisfaction
  • Build long-term trusting relationships with clients
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market
  • Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) clients and Account Executives
  • Prepare estimates and execute proposals
  • Report to the Branch Manager on (weekly/monthly/quarterly) sales results
  • Stay up to date with new products/services and new pricing/payment plans

Required Skills:

Degree in marketing, business, construction management, or a similar area

Travel Requirements:

Travel to project sites, or other APi Inc company locations as needed.

  • The person in this position needs to move about inside and outside the office and may encounter various weather conditions.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Must be able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders via face-to-face, conference calls, and online meetings.
  • Making site visits which may include rough terrain
  • The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in a job site environment.
  • PPE required when in the plant, yard or construction areas include:
  • Hard Hat
  • Safety Glasses / Goggles
  • Steel-toed Boots
  • High Visibility Vest
  • Hearing Protection (designated areas)
  • Gloves
