AppleOne is seeking an experienced Director Of Business Development for a direct hire opportunity in Arlington, VA within the industrial facilities and infrastructure construction industry. This leadership role is ideal for a strategic, relationship-driven business development professional with a strong track record of identifying new opportunities, expanding client relationships, and driving revenue growth in construction, engineering, architecture, or related professional services markets.
The Director Of Business Development will lead regional market growth initiatives, build a strong pipeline of prospective clients and projects, and serve as a trusted representative in the industry and community. Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities across targeted markets, clients, and industry sectors.
- Develop and execute regional business development strategies that support revenue growth, market expansion, and organizational objectives.
- Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with prospective clients, existing clients, industry partners, consultants, and key stakeholders.
- Lead pursuit planning efforts, including client engagement strategies, opportunity evaluation, proposal support, presentation preparation, and interview coaching.
- Research market trends, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities to support strategic decision-making and pipeline development.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, networking functions, community organizations, and other brand-building activities.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $130,000 to $150,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Lead regional business development strategies focused on new client acquisition, market growth, and revenue expansion.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective clients, projects, and strategic opportunities.
- Lead pursuit planning, proposal coordination, presentation preparation, and client engagement strategies.
- Collaborate with leadership, marketing, operations, and technical teams to align business development efforts with company goals.
- Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in business development, sales, client relationship management, or a related industry role.
- Proven track record of securing new business, expanding client relationships, and supporting measurable revenue growth.
- Experience in construction, engineering, architecture, professional services, industrial facilities, infrastructure, or a related market.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze market conditions, assess opportunities, and develop strategic growth plans.
- Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, project management, and follow-through abilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across operational, technical, marketing, and executive teams.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, confidentiality, accountability, and client service orientation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Established professional network and industry relationships within target construction, infrastructure, engineering, or professional services markets.
- Experience representing an organization at industry events, networking functions, community organizations, and client-facing forums.
- Background supporting proposal development, qualifications packages, interview preparation, and strategic pursuit planning.
