Job Summary: Deliver products to customers in a safe, productive, efficient, accurate and timely manner-following established policies and procedures. Provide counter/store service to customers via in-person, phone, and fax.
Duties include:
Ensure that all internal and external customers and co-workers receive outstanding service by providing a friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining the highest standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of a Customer is Number 1 environment.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicle. Verify load has accurate cylinders and hard goods. Check that all cylinders have proper shipping labels.
Fill out truck manifest prior to leaving store. Make sure truck has first aid kit, triangles, accident kit, haz-mat guide, etc. Check straps, replace bad ones, and make sure cylinder transactions on invoices are correct. Get signatures on all invoices.
Fill out daily trip records including logbook and duty sheets.
Report any repairs to vehicles as needed to the supervisor.
Report unsafe delivery to dispatch.
Put away empty cylinders from the dock.
Open and close store as needed.
Assist with daily paperwork (cash reports), filing, preparing packets, answer invoice questions.
Enter weekly stock order. Receive stock transfers.
Notify client when orders are ready for pick-up; return orders to stock as required, notify customer when back-orders are in, etc.
Night and weekend on-call as necessary.
Commit to high performance through outstanding attendance and overall dependable work habits.
Requirements include:
At least 1 year delivery experience
Minimum 1 year previous delivery experience plus 2 years customer service background
Class A or B Commercial Drivers License with Haz-Mat endorsement.
Must have valid Drivers License with good driving record.
A working knowledge of safety principles and techniques.
Ability to work independently, establish priorities and accomplish objectives with minimal supervision.
Must pass a Drug screen, DOT physical and background check.
