The Vice President of Sales plans, manages and directs sales initiatives for United States and Canada that align with the overall organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing or related field with a minimum of ten years related experience with progressive managerial responsibilities.
- Should be a strategic visionary with sound knowledge of sales principles, analytical and forecasting ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.
- Superior communications skills including written, verbal, negotiation and public presentations.
- Ability to develop, train and continually motivate high performance sales team.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues at both a strategic and functional level.
- Ability and willingness to travel at least 50% of the time.
- Punctual, have a good work attitude, and work cooperatively with others in the department and company.
- Accept and benefit from constructive criticism.
- Demonstrated excellent attendance and commitment to corporate values.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans and forecasts for domestic sales to achieve corporate objectives.
- Develop and manage sales operating budgets. Analyze and control expenditures of sales division to conform to budgetary requirements.
- Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly. Review and analyze sales performances against programs, quotas and plans to determine effectiveness.
- Achieve satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends.
- Direct implementation and execution of sales policies and practices.
- Monitor competitor products, sales and marketing activities and recommend sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analysis.
- Build, develop and manage sales team capable of carrying out needed sales initiatives.
- Represent company at trade association meetings to promote product line.
- Meet with key clients, assisting sales representatives with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
- Establish and maintain a consistent corporate image throughout all products and sales events.
- Manage and direct staff including selection, evaluation and development to achieve corporate goals and objectives.
- Protect operation by keeping information confidential.
- Observe and adhere to DMP's data classification standards.
- Observe company policies. Continuously strive to find processes that create improved efficiency while maintaining conformance to requirements.
- Contribute to team effort by performing other duties as assigned. Job duties are subject to change as directed by management.
