About the Role: We're looking for a Vice President of Sales Intelligence & Enablement responsible for the overall strategy, performance, and execution of retail sales enablement, analytics, and competitive intelligence across our life insurance and annuities business.
This Vice President of Sales Intelligence & Enablement provides executive leadership as a member of the Retail Executive Leadership Team and serves as the senior point of accountability for equipping marketing and distribution teams with the tools, insights, and capabilities needed to drive revenue growth, productivity, and market competitiveness.
This role will lead and develop Sales Development & Analytics, Competitive Intelligence and Sales Enablement teams including Training, while partnering closely with Sales, Marketing, Strategic Accounts, Product, Operations, IT and executive leadership to deliver integrated, scalable solutions across the enterprise.
What You'll Do:
Sales Intelligence &Enablement Strategy and Leadership
Establish and execute the enterprise sales intelligence and enablement strategy, aligned with distribution priorities and top-line growth objectivesDevelop a best-in-class enablement model that enhances field productivity, sales effectiveness, and advisor engagement across channelsDeliver actionable insights through sales analytics, performance reporting, and competitive intelligence to inform decision-making at all levelsServe as a strategic advisor to Sales and executive leadership on market and technology trends, sales performance, and business opportunitiesAct as a key liaison between the Retail team and the enterprise IT team related to data, technology, reporting and enablement needs.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and develop the AVP of Sales Development, Director of Sales Analytics, Senior Competitive Intelligence Analyst, and other senior-level analytics and enablement talentBuild a high-performing, data-driven organization with strong capabilities in reporting, insights generation, training, content development and technology implementationsSet clear performance expectations, goals, and accountability metrics for all enablement and intelligence functionsFoster a collaborative, innovative culture focused on continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and business impactSupport talent development, succession planning, and organizational design aligned with business growth
Sales Enablement & Field Effectiveness
Design and oversee the delivery of sales enablement programs including onboarding, training, playbooks, and ongoing development for wholesalers and distribution teamsEnsure alignment of messaging, tools, and resources across Sales, Marketing, and Product to support consistent and effective field executionPartner with Sales Leadership to identify capability gaps and implement targeted training and coaching frameworksEnhance advisor and agent experience through streamlined, scalable enablement solutions and toolsMeasure and optimize the effectiveness of enablement initiatives through defined KPIs and feedback loops
Sales Analytics & Performance Insights
Oversee the development and delivery of enterprise sales dashboards, reporting frameworks, and performance analyticsTranslate complex data into clear, actionable insights to support business planning, resource allocation, and strategic decision-makingEstablish standardized metrics for sales performance, productivity, and channel effectivenessPartner with Finance, Sales Leadership, and Distribution teams on forecasting, pipeline management, and performance reviewsDrive continuous improvement through data-driven recommendations and performance optimization strategies
Competitive Intelligence & Market Insights
Lead competitive intelligence efforts, including market analysis, product positioning assessments, and competitor benchmarkingProvide strategic insights on market trends, distribution dynamics, and emerging risks/opportunitiesEquip Sales and Marketing teams with competitive positioning, battlecards, and differentiated messagingPartner with Product and Marketing to inform go-to-market strategies and product development prioritiesEnsure intelligence is proactively shared across leadership to inform enterprise strategy
Enterprise Partnership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with IT, Sales, Marketing, Product, Operations, and Distribution leadership to align enablement and intelligence strategies with broader business initiativesSupport go-to-market initiatives, product launches, and distribution expansion strategiesEnsure consistent communication and alignment across all stakeholdersBecome a key representative for the Retail organization in the Demand Intake process
Operational & Risk Awareness
Maintain awareness of regulatory, compliance, and operational considerations within a life insurance and annuities environmentPartner with Compliance, Legal, and Operations to ensure all enablement materials and communications align with internal policies and regulatory requirementsSupport governance, reporting, and risk management processes related to sales activities and performance trackingEnsure disciplined and accurate use of data, reporting, and analytics across the organization
What You'll Bring:
10+ years of experience in sales enablement, sales analytics, business intelligence, and distribution strategy within life insurance, annuities, or financial servicesProven leadership experience managing multi-functional teams across analytics, enablement, and intelligence functionsStrong background in sales operations, reporting, forecasting, and performance managementDemonstrated ability to translate data into actionable business insights and strategiesExperience supporting national distribution teams, wholesalers, or institutional sales channelsExcellent leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsExceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skillsAbility to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing prioritiesAbility to travel for business as needed
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Advanced analytics and reporting capabilities, including dashboarding and KPI developmentExperience with CRM systems, sales performance tools, and business intelligence platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Tableau, Power BI)Ability to synthesize large, complex datasets into executive-level insightsFamiliarity with marketing attribution and sales enablement tools preferred
