Join our team as the Vice President of Sales Albertson's team and take on a pivotal role in maximizing our company's efficiency and effectiveness in personnel development, financial results, and operations. This is an exciting opportunity to balance the needs of Acosta clients and customer relationships while ensuring consistent, profitable growth of sales revenues.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Relationship Building : Develop and maintain trusting and ethical relationships with associates, vendors, and Alberton's buying staff. Your ability to build strong connections will be crucial in driving our success.
Performance Monitoring : Utilize system reports, customer feedback, and communication to monitor the performance of all Business Managers and Client Service Representatives. Ensure that our team is always performing at its best.
Policy and Procedure Enforcement : Assist in formulating and enforcing regional policies, practices, and procedures. Work closely with the HRA assigned to the business as required.
Proactive Issue Resolution : Identify potential issues proactively and implement corrective actions timely to keep our operations running smoothly.
Sales Objectives and Analysis : Assist in establishing regional sales objectives by forecasting, analyzing results, and recognizing trends. Monitor sales, costs, competition, and performance to budget.
New Business Development : Drive towards new business development goals for the region. Work with existing clients on packaging, pricing, formulation, and new item trends to develop items specifically for Alberton's.
Compliance and Audits : Conduct plant audits and inspections around the world to ensure compliance with Alberton's food safety and social responsibility standards.
Market Trends and Information : Provide Alberton's Buyers with up-to-date market trends and industry information. Translate national sales programs into regional action plans.
Staff Development and Motivation : Lead and share responsibility for developing, maintaining, evaluating, and motivating staff performance. Participate in the assigning and scheduling of workloads, responsibilities, and projects, and manage the corrective action process when necessary.
Product and Industry Expertise : Become an expert in product, vendor, category, and industry knowledge. Develop new and innovative items for Albertson's in partnership with existing vendors.
Budget Management : Control and manage the Expense/Office/Travel budget based on company policy. Oversee and manage activities for two to three Branches.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education : Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
Experience : Ten years of work experience in the food industry, including two years as a Senior Director, experience. Five years of direct selling experience calling on buyers (preferably Alberton's).
Skills : Proven leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Consistent follow-through and organizing skills. Project management experience is a must. Proven track record of generating incremental sales and managing a regional budget.
Knowledge : Comprehensive knowledge of Alberton's operation and key competitors. Ability to develop and maintain top-level management relationships with Alberton's and vendors within. Insight into product formulation, packaging, and marketing programs for all assigned vendors.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to travel as needed.
Strong listening and communication skills.
