Business Development Manager (BDM)

The Business Development Manager (BDM) plays a key role in driving growth forATS Specialized and ATS Heavy Haul by identifying, developing, and securing newbusiness while managing and expanding existing customer relationships. This roleis responsible for generating new opportunities through both organic outreachand engagement with inactive or existing customers.

The BDM works collaboratively with Customer Service, Planning, Operations, andPricing teams to ensure customer expectations are met while aligning with ATSasset fleet needs. This position may be assigned to a specific region, industry,or customer segment on either a temporary or ongoing basis and requires aconsultative, strategic approach to sales and relationship management.

What You'll Do

Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve department and companygrowth goals.Identify, solicit, and close new Specialized and Heavy Haul businessopportunities.Manage and grow existing customer accounts while meeting new customergeneration targets.Use a consultative sales approach to build long-term customer relationshipsand clearly articulate ATS's value proposition.Collaborate closely with Planning and Operations to balance customercommitments, service expectations, and fleet utilization.Negotiate pricing and shipment terms; accurately quote rates and record allcontractual details.Partner with Customer Service to onboard new customers and ensure a smooth,positive experience.Work with leadership and the Pricing team on requests for proposals (RFPs)and competitive bid submissions.Generate and qualify leads for ATS Specialized while sharing opportunitieswith other ATS business units as appropriate.Communicate clearly and professionally-listening actively, respondingeffectively to concerns, and writing clearly and informatively.Foster strong relationships with internal partners and contribute to apositive, collaborative team environment.Demonstrate ATS's Mission, Vision, and Values through consistent actions anddecision-making.Align behaviors, performance, and recommendations with ATS's All-EmployeeCompetencies and culture.Work outside of normal business hours when needed; travel occasionally.Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Two- or four-year degree in Business, Communications, or a related fieldpreferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.Two or more years of experience in Specialized or Heavy Haul transportationpreferred.Solid understanding of sales, marketing, and customer service principles.Strong entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to self-direct and takeinitiative.Proven problem-solving and analytical skills with a results- andmetrics-driven focus.Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and managemultiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust andcommunicate effectively across all levels of the organization.Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and cultures.Creative thinker who contributes innovative ideas and solutions.Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and multitaskeffectively.Commitment to maintaining a high level of confidentiality.Demonstrated alignment with ATS corporate values and commitment to teamsuccess.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, andOutlook.Strong written, verbal, and listening communication skills.Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Compensation & Benefits

Total cash compensation range of this position is $100,000 to$130,000 which includes a base salary range that starts at $70,000 plusfirst-year training incentive of $25,000. Base salary offered is determined byrelevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic location ascompared to others doing substantially similar work. In addition to the basesalary, employees may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which canvary depending on individual and/or company performance.Anderson Trucking Service is committed to supporting our employees with acomprehensive benefits package.
