Position: District Sales Manager
Job Location: Savannah, GA
Job Type: Full-Time
Status: Exempt
Summary of the Role
The District Sales Manager will actively lead a Sales team in line with the organization and department strategy to realize Sales objectives; and will simultaneously train and develop leadership skills, business acumen, and relationships across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures.
- Train alongside other professionals in the organization to learn many facets of the business including but not limited to: reporting, key accounts, levels of authority, approvals, account set ups, strategic planning.
- Training in the following leadership areas: goal setting, performance management, hiring, onboarding, and coaching.
- Responsible for interim coverage for DSMs on PTO or other time off
- Responsible to oversee the planning and execution of major Turnarounds and Shutdowns for the region.
- Responsible for revenue growth (new and existing accounts) and margin enhancements.
- Territory and Opportunity Pipeline Management.
- Linking Product and Sales Management.
- Develop and implement strategies to bring new businesses into the portfolio.
- Drives PMCs (Product Marketing Combinations); (identifying the sales target, organizing team to go after the targets, coordination of activities; identifying factors to help secure the opportunity).
- Capture, Understand, Filter, Document, and Share Voice of the Customer.
- Initiates, formulates and implements new business practices for Sales; manages the development and/or delivery of a significant element of the change management program.
- Manages key client and customer relationships, typically utilizing account teams.
- Recommends authoritative technical/professional Sales solutions which have significant impact.
- Manages the development and/or delivery of budget plans for the Sales department.
- Drives Employee and Customer engagement.
- Interprets operational Sales policies and procedures and monitors their implementation in the organization.
- Consistent communication with operations management.
- Understands market dynamics in terms of existing industry and opportunity for growth.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of strategies and systems for selling technical products and solutions-oriented services in industrial services markets.
- Understanding of contracts, negotiating strategies and technical sales methods for integrating and growing acquired businesses, products and services.
- Experience in developing and executing strategies to meet sales targets, grow future sales and expand product offerings and services.
- Experience in building strong working relationships and executing across all functions and levels of an organization.
- Demonstrated ability to build professional, performance driven sales teams and develop skills of team members.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization and to outside markets.
- Advanced creative, analytical, negotiation, customer service, managerial and presentation skills.
- Ability to drive business plans, goals and accountabilities in a multi-cultural environment.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at an advanced level in a manner that is clear and responsive to questions and issues.
- Ability to manage multiple complex assignments to meet deadlines under challenging work conditions.
- Ability to gather and analyze data to identify and solve problems.
- Attention to detail, commitment to quality, results driven and customer focused.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in marketing, business, engineering or related business or technical field.
- 3-5 years of experience in selling technical products and services and managing sales teams in Business to Business (B2B) environment, or equivalent education and experience.
- Preferred Industrial MRO distribution and/or industrial manufacturing sold via distribution leadership experience.
