Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Manager to lead our sales efforts at the Portland, Oregon office. This role is responsible for managing a team of sales professionals, driving revenue growth, and representing our HVAC products and services to contractors, engineers, and building owners. As the local sales leader, you will play a critical role in executing our company’s regional strategies while tailoring them to the unique needs of the Portland market.
Job Duties
- Lead and manage the Portland sales team, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
- Develop and execute local sales plans focused on commercial HVAC equipment, controls, retrofit solutions, and maintenance services.
- Support team members in identifying, developing, and closing opportunities with mechanical contractors, engineers, and facility managers.
- Oversee proposal development, pricing strategies, and project handoffs to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
- Track sales activities and maintain an accurate pipeline using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), reporting performance metrics regularly to regional leadership.
- Collaborate with engineering, estimating, service, and project management teams to ensure successful execution and high customer satisfaction.
- Monitor local market trends, construction activity, and competitor positioning to refine sales tactics and uncover new opportunities.
- Represent the Portland office at industry events, client meetings, and networking opportunities to build strong customer relationships and grow our presence in the local market.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred; technical HVAC training or certifications a plus.
- 5+ years of commercial HVAC sales experience, with 2+ years in a leadership or branch-level management role.
- Deep understanding of commercial HVAC systems and the Portland market, including new construction, retrofit, and service work.
- Proven track record of managing successful sales teams and exceeding revenue targets.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and proposal/estimating tools.
- Ability to travel locally within the Portland area as needed.
