INVISTA is seeking a North America Business Development Manager to join our team. The North America Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the commercial strategy to grow the CORDURA military, law enforcement, and tactical business in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada markets. This manager will build a strong understanding of market needs to inform solution development. In this role, you will have the opportunity to build long-lasting customer relationships and drive innovation to create virtuous cycles of mutual benefit. Successful candidates will have a strong sense of urgency, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a strong economic thinking and entrepreneurial mindset. What You Will Do
- Develop relationships and networks within the value chain, military, and government organizations to understand unmet needs, current/future contract solicitation requirements, and set strategy to profitably advance INVISTA''s product and technology portfolio
- Follow current military program execution by working through the entire value chain, fiber to end-user. Look for windows of opportunity and potential derailers for our offerings and services
- Develop a Point of View of competitive landscapes and next generation military products and services to identify where INVISTA can add value and offer solutions
- Advise the Commercial team on price strategies to set premiums on differentiated products
- Lead efforts with the Technical, Commercial, and Marketing teams to develop business and marketing plans to launch new products
- Work with CORDURA Marketing Director/Team to provide co-op marketing support for strategic brand and value chain partners
- Recommend and execute rapid experiments aligned with overall business vision & strategy to test value-in-use for CORDURA and identify future growth opportunities
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelors degree or higher in textiles, engineering or business/financial discipline
- Experience working with U.S. military specifications, procurement and/or new product development
- Experience in textiles at the fabric manufacturing, design, or development level
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including some international travel
- This role is not eligible for VISA sponsorship
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience in value selling in business development or sales
- Experience developing and executing growth strategies to achieve quantifiable commercial successes engaging a cross-functional team
- Experience using military or law enforcement equipment
