The Business Development Manager is a key driver of revenue growth, responsible for identifying, developing, and expanding business opportunities with instrumentation OEMs across the Life Sciences, Metrology, and Automation markets in the Eastern U.S. and Canada. This role requires a consultative sales approach, strong technical acumen, and the ability to translate complex customer needs into tailored Dover Motion solutions that deliver measurable value. In addition to base salary, the total compensation package includes a performance-based incentive program, typically paid on a quarterly basis.
**Responsibilities** **:**
+ Maximize sales potential and manage the opportunity funnel within assigned territory and targeted Key Accounts through strategic prospecting, relationship-building, use of best practices, and deep knowledge of the company's products and services as well as knowledge of the competition's strengths and weaknesses.
+ Drive growth by establishing relationships and securing contracts with new customers in target markets to achieve assigned sales targets
+ Expand existing customer relationships by identifying cross-functional opportunities across product lines and divisions.
+ Analyze the market and competitive landscape to identify trends and target new business.
+ Generate leads through inbound follow-up, outbound outreach, and attendance at relevant trade shows and industry events.
+ Establish and maintain strong domain knowledge to engage in meaningful technical conversations with prospects and customers and truly understand their needs/pain points.
+ Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to ensure customer requirements are met from initial engagement through post-sale support.
+ Fully utilize CRM tools for pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting.
+ Provide market feedback to leadership on trends, competitive threats, unmet needs, and opportunities to deliver greater customer value through product or service enhancements.
+ Represent Dover Motion with the highest degree of professionalism, integrity, and customer-first mindset.
QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills.

+ Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
+ 7+ years of experience in technical sales, specifically selling motion control products and custom motion/mechatronic solutions to OEMs and navigating complex buying cycles
+ Strong background working closely with internal and external engineering teams
+ Highly skilled in value-based selling, negotiation, and customer presentations.
+ Quick learner with the ability to grasp technical concepts and industry-specific terminology.

**Travel Requirements**
+ Approximately 30% travel required, including overnight trips for customer visits, trade shows, and internal team meetings.

**Pay Range**
The salary range for this sales position inclusive of sales incentivescommissions in local currency is 105000 - 195000
