THE OPPORTUNITY

Riskonnect, Inc. is seeking a talented and strategic Manager, Business Development, to lead and develop our Business Development Representative (BDR) team. As Manager, you will directly oversee a team of 4+ Business Development Representatives, providing leadership, coaching, and accountability to ensure individual and team goals are met. You will be responsible for driving team performance, designing and executing outbound strategies, and fostering cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical acumen, data-driven decision making, and a passion for coaching and developing sales talent. This role requires a deep understanding of CRM and sales tools, as well as the ability to adapt strategies based on market and industry insights.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 4+ Business Development Representatives, ensuring high performance, accountability, and continuous development.
  • Design and implement effective outbound prospecting strategies that align with company objectives and target ideal customer profiles.
  • Ensure all inbound and outbound leads are promptly actioned, tracked, and advanced through the sales process, continuously monitoring outreach coverage and follow-up activities to guarantee comprehensive engagement and timely pipeline movement.
  • Regularly review CRM data and team activity reports to identify gaps in lead follow-up or outreach, implementing corrective actions and process improvements as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, accounts, opportunities, and activities in Salesforce CRM and integrated sales tools (SalesLoft, LinkedIn SN, ZoomInfo, HubSpot).
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, sales, and other internal teams to align on campaign strategies, messaging, and lead management processes for maximum market coverage and sales opportunities.
  • Provide personalized coaching and training to BDRs, adapting style to meet individual needs, and developing team members according to business demands and their professional goals.
  • Lead the hiring, onboarding, and ramp-up process for new BDRs, ensuring seamless integration and a strong foundation for success.
  • Analyze reports and dashboards to draw meaningful conclusions and implement data-driven strategies to optimize team performance and achieve objectives.
  • Ensure timely and accurate identification and resolution of operational, data, and communication issues.
  • Meet regularly with Sales Executives and Leadership to align on pipeline generation and communicate team needs and performance to the Director.
  • Leverage industry and market research to inform sales strategies, outreach efforts, and team training initiatives.
  • Coach team members through objection handling and complex sales conversations, leveraging your own relevant experience in sales or business development.
  • Ensure timely and accurate identification and resolution of operational, data, and communication issues.
  • Meet regularly with Sales Executives and Leadership to align on pipeline generation and communicate team needs and performance to the Director.
  • Leverage industry and market research to inform sales strategies, outreach efforts, and team training initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical proficiency with Salesforce.com CRM and business development tools (SalesLoft, LinkedIn SN, ZoomInfo, HubSpot), including troubleshooting, training, and optimization.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze sales metrics, run reports, and draw actionable insights to drive data-driven decision making and strategy.
  • Proven skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated history of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience in campaign performance optimization, funnel optimization, creative testing, and ROI calculations.
  • Previous experience in business development, sales, or a closely related field, with the ability to coach team members through objection handling and complex sales conversations.
  • Skilled in sales methodologies, including Account-Based Marketing (ABM) orchestration, outbound prospecting, and lead qualification strategies.
  • Over 5+ years of experience in Business Development/B2B Sales or related experience, demonstrating successful individual contribution in a sales or prospecting environment (preference for SaaS sales).
  • Over 2+ years of proven experience in people management, with a focus on developing and mentoring sales professionals.
