Mays Chemical, a Ravago Company is seeking a dynamic Global Business Development Manager to join our Sales team (specializing in the food industry). The Global Business Development Manager will be a critical driver of our domestic growth, responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities within the food raw ingredients sector worldwide. The role requires a highly strategic and results-oriented individual with a deep understanding global food markets, strong commercial acumen, and proven experience in building and managing client relationships. The ideal candidate will be a "hunter" who can identify emerging trends, new customer segments, and strategic partnerships to expand our footprint and achieve sales targets.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Grow revenue by developing existing accounts and sourcing new customers within.
  • Retains and profitably grows volume, sales, and profitability through proactive management of assigned large-targeted customer relationships as well as their assigned territory or market segment.
  • Penetrates assigned accounts by selling new or additional products or services to current buyers.
  • Finding additional buyers within the existing customer location.
  • Selling additional customer locations with your large accounts or territory / market segment such as Toll Manufacturers and Contract Manufacturers.
  • Sells the company's complete offering of products and services.
  • Leads all aspects of the sales process, calling upon others to assist in solution development and proposal delivery, as needed, or as directed by management.
  • Develops customer account plans for all assigned customers by leading a joint company/customer planning process that identifies relevant customer needs, prioritizes initiatives and company investments, and establishes a clear action plan for success.
  • Proactively manages customers' satisfaction and service delivery by anticipating potential service problems, and monitoring satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate customer pricing and PO information and requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Assist Purchasing with Supplier Development, Negotiations and product sourcing.

Education/Experience:

  • BS degree in Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 6 plus years of sales experience, specialty ingredients to food, business-to-business, large customer segment.
  • Must have a strong understanding of nutritional ingredients and excellent negotiating skills.
  • Ability to discuss technical concepts with R&D and convey features and benefits.
  • Must be self-motivated, work well independently and be organized.
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft office products.
  • Must be able to travel throughout the United States.
