As a Business Development Manager, you will be an Indvidual contributor of the Industrial Coatings sales team, a business leader and core to PPG's success, developing and managing account strategy, establishing solid relationships with new and existing customer decision makers, forecast long-term sales growth plans, as well as initiate improvement opportunities, pricing initiatives, and guidance for R&D product development/innovation. You will collaborate externally with Customers and End Users and internally with commercial, segment, and technical leaders to set a strategic path forward for each account.

Responsibilities:

Develop new business and manage current accounts; create specific plans and technology goals with clear execution metrics.

Promote PPG's growth by improving volume, sales revenue, and profitability.

Develop deep customer relationships across the customer's organization utilizing PPG SBU and corporate management.

Through Voice of the Customer (VOC) and deep customer knowledge develop a forward looking product development and qualification strategy positioning PPG for future growth.

Mobilize PPG resources to align with customer's resources and needs in alignment with global segments and regional GMs develop pricing and commercial guidance for responsible accounts.

Determine long-term and short-term customer needs for new products based on detailed knowledge of customer technologies and future business directions.

Collect and analyze customer and competitor information.

Present a plan that addresses growth goals, trends, competitor activities, major customer profiles, and a five-year product, customer and growth plan.

Work with the regional Sales Manager to develop pricing strategy.

Determine if appropriate resources are in place to hit sales growth target.

Manage strategic contract negotiations while mobilizing the team on completed agreements.

Implement sales/marketing initiatives with the operations, product management and technical organizations on product acceptance and market needs, in order to ensure customer satisfaction and the development of effective new. technologies. Maintain regular communication with Regional Sales Manager on established KPI's and deviations from Goals.

Qualifications:

BA/BS in business, engineering, chemistry, or similar level; OR equivalent combination of experience, training, and industry knowledge.

5+ years of business to business sales experience related to industrial products or similar.

Strong knowledge of the industrial coatings market.

Self-motivated.

Travel domestically as needed.
