The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, establishing and growing relationships with new customers and markets. This is a customer-facing position to focus on business growth within Ahlstrom's Tape Business Unit. This individual will work with new and existing customers to develop new opportunities linked to their objective and challenges.
The Business Development Managers primary responsibilities include the following:
Prospect and hunt for new customers and markets
Faciliate customer interface to ensure clear understanding of project goals and status
Develops relationships with key decision makers within customer organization to drive sales
Develops and implement key account plans to match strategic needs
Develops strategies and models to uncover new opportunities linked to customer objectives and challenges
Maps customer business processes and how we can drive value
Attends industry events and fuctions
Additional areas of responsibility include:
Profitably gorwing the business with targeted customers
Maintain effective dialog with customer contacts and industry associates
Interact with customer levels to understand performance needs for new and existing products
Prioritize development opportunities to support alignment
Work with customers to optimize grade designs in their processes
Focal point of new business inquiries
Develop a deep understanding of competitors strategies and performance within the market
Identify opprtunities to improve profitability utilizing different assets
Requirements:
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Experience in consumer product companies or paper making / converting operations
5 or more years of business development or industry experience preferred
Strong skills in relationship-building and interpersonal communication
Ability to cultivate new business
Self-starter; passion for business development
High degree of business acumen
Ability to travel 25% of the time
Must possess valid driver's license and passport
Ability to work additional hours during the week, on weekends, or outside of regular office hours may be required
The ability to work in a normal office environment to include: sitting or standing for long periods of time, operating various standard office equipment, carrying paper documents/files, reaching and bending, speaking
