Position Summary

The Irrigation Account Manager / Sales Representative is responsible for managing client relationships, generating new business and collaborating with landscaper and builder partners. This role oversees the daily setup of field crews for upcoming jobs, including task assignments, and ensuring each crew is fully prepared for the day. This role combines irrigation sales, customer service, and technical knowledge to provide clients with accurate assessments, estimates, proposals, and solutions for their irrigation needs.

Daily Tasks

  • Prepare and present installation estimates, proposals, and irrigation system solutions.

  • Conduct on-site evaluations and system assessments of existing systems to determine client needs.

  • Prepare and present estimates for existing systems.

  • Communicate regularly with existing clients regarding service needs, recommendations, and updates.

  • Follow up on open proposals and close sales in line with company goals.

  • Coordinate with office staff to schedule repairs, installations, and maintenance services.

  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and project details.

  • Monitor customer satisfaction and resolve issues promptly and professionally.

  • Network and prospect for new business opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of irrigation service accounts, ensuring retention and quality customer experience.

  • Design, quote and layout irrigation plans submitted by builders and/or landscapers.

  • Generate new business through referrals, prospecting, cold calls and outreach, and networking.

  • Provide expert recommendations on system upgrades, repairs, water-efficiency improvements, and seasonal services.

  • Develop accurate proposals, pricing structures, and service plans.

  • Work closely with crews to ensure services are completed according to client expectations.

  • Understand and explain technical irrigation concepts, including controllers, valves, heads, and smart irrigation technology.

  • Track sales performance and meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.

  • Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company’s values at all times.

  • Stay updated on new irrigation technologies and water-efficient practices.

  • Monitor market trends, competitor products, and pricing.

  • Collect customer feedback and report market insights to management.

  • Participate in trade shows and promotional events as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in irrigation, landscape services, outside sales, or account management.

  • Working knowledge of irrigation systems, components, and water-efficiency practices.

  • Strong sales ability, with proven success in customer-facing roles.

  • Excellent organization, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

  • Ability to plan routes, manage appointments, and work independently.

  • Comfortable working outdoors while conducting site assessments.

Salary 

  • Base salary of $75,000 

  •  commission 

  • 401K - Rainscape will match up to 4% of your annual contribution if the employee contributes 5% or more (applies after 6 months of employment)

  • 50% contribution towards health insurance
