Position Accountabilities Assures sales and profitability objectives are achieved. Assures that order/shipment goals are met and exceeded for independent channels of distribution. Assures new accounts are pursued and secured. Assures that allocated budget resources are maximized to grow the business, balancing customer needs with market conditions and budget guidelines. Assures that the most effective strategies are in place to maximize sales (e.g. territory alignment, selling programs, marketing, distribution management, brand development (new shoes), key account management, and Account Executive incentive programs where applicable). Profile Accountabilities Assures high performance and customer focus from all direct reports for cross-functional impact by: Motivating and inspiring team to achieve their highest potential Providing ongoing coaching and performance feedback Providing the opportunities and tools direct reports need to grow and gain the skills and knowledge needed to realize their potential Attracting talent and selecting high caliber people of diverse cultures, backgrounds and experiences from both inside and outside of the organization Delegating authority and encouraging staff to take calculated risks Adapting style to capitalize on different talent Assures effective management of change to reach functional and organizational goals by: Developing and communicating a strategic direction for the division/functional area Proactively developing intra-company relationships, partnerships, and initiatives Demonstrating creativity by breaking norms, trying new models, and generating ideas Replicating successful endeavors and institutionalizing successful practices Assures the judicious use of company resources and sound business justification for all budgetary decisions by: Evaluating long-range business impact Searching for the most accurate information and facing the brutal facts Assures a collaborative environment that fosters and values partnerships, diversity, and trust by: Demonstrating and modeling a passion for meeting customer needs and exceeding customer expectations Exhibiting selflessness by helping others become more successful in their roles Promoting the sharing of talent resources across functions and business units to create or improve business results Actively seeking the ideas of others and valuing differing perspectives Building trust by communicating honestly, directly, and candidly osition Essential Functions Provide focus and direction to the sales force to maximize productivity, including the establishment of annual goals and ongoing performance management. Develop and support strategies to secure new accounts. Develop and implement growth plans for key accounts. Ensure effective communication between the field (Account Executives) and senior management. Determine where to deploy financial resources through returns, allowances and advertising. Network with Sales Managers in other companies and industries to benchmark sales strategies. Travel to areas of key growth accounts to stay up-to-date on competitive issues and opportunities. Serve as the liaison between the field and senior management regarding market conditions and opportunities. Position Specifications Educational Preference: Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Job Experience: Previous sales management experience preferred Computer Experience: Microsoft Office Sales management reporting experience a plus.
