Description: OVERVIEW:The Vice President, Sales & Relationship Management of Acadia Trust, N.A ("Acadia") will serve on the Senior Management Group and share in the responsibility for the oversight and running of the business while leading a group of Relationship Managers and Trust Officers providing financial expertise on wealth, trust, retirement & bank products and services to high net worth clients. The role requires significant leadership, relationship management, personal and employee benefit expertise. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Sales o Lead the group in the delivery and integration of a broad range of products and services including financial and tax planning, personal trust and estate planning and Camden retail banking products. Provide oversight and develop metrics of the entire sales process from developing an opportunity, delivering presentations, client meetings and closure.o Personally develop and maintain an existing book of important and significant revenue generating high net worth client relationshipso Grow a referral program thru the Camden branch network; assigning territory and coverage modelso Ensure the consistency of the sales experience for prospects and adherence to standards of service to existing clients.o Establish and maintain mutually beneficial business relationships with internal and external centers of influence such as a region's senior leadership team, local advisory board members, outside CPA's, attorney's, civic associations and other individuals and organizations that will enhance marketing efforts. Relationship Management / Client Management o Lead the growth of profitability by increasing revenues, expanding services and products to existing clients, marketing new products with a focus on the organizations client segmentation strategy.o Ensure that the group is actively managing trust relationships, performing reviews, ensuring client objectives are met and are consistent with governing documents, fiduciary administration principles and legal standards.Marketing o Define and lead the strategy for Marketing, PR & Events; represent Acadia Trust in community organization and events in local markets. o Implement marketing programs that drive awareness and lead generationManagement / Leadership o Ensure that Relationship Manager Group delivers personalized, attentive service to the clients and actively monitors assigned accounts for adherence to company policies and procedures; ensure that policies and procedures are current and periodically approved by the Acadia Trust Board of Directors.o Lead the Trust Administrative Committee and oversee fiduciary activities to ensure compliance with laws and regulation; represent fiduciary matters with co-trustee, client's attorneys and regulators.o The Sales & Relationship Management group is geographically divided into our Portland, Ellsworth and Bangor offices. The group consists of seven to eight professionals with relationship management, employee benefit and trust relationship responsibilities. o Keep abreast of changing economic, legal, financial planning, investment trends and general market and business issues impacting affluent clients, and ensure that training plans are sufficient to establish Acadia Trust as a credible and up to date source of advice and expertiseo Ensure that the unit works within the existing audit, compliance and regulatory framework in order to ensure high quality relationships. Work closely with specialized areas of support (portfolio manager, bankers, co-trustees, compliance, administration & operations) and monitor risk management practices, policies and procedures. o Participate in the ongoing improvement and refinement of wealth management strategies, processes and procedures COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIPS: · Senior Management Group; Acadia Trust, N.A.· Trust Administrative Committee; Acadia Trust, N.A (committee chair)· American Bankers Association; Acadia Trust, N.A. representative· Investment Committee; Acadia Trust N.A (non-voting member) QUALIFICATIONS:Connections within Private Wealth Management core client space and professional centers of influence · Strong business development skills, including experience building relationships with prospective high net worth clients to identify their needs, determine whether there is a good fit and successfully transition them to clients · Advanced understanding of a broad range of financial planning and investment concepts, and a sound working knowledge of retail banking and personal trust and fiduciary services Proven sales / cross selling / networking skills; demonstrated ability to identify and act on new business opportunities; aptitude for analytics and problem solving; well versed in fiduciary services and comprehensive knowledge of investments. · Strong familiarity with wealth management issues (e.g., wealth transfer strategies, tax planning, insurance, and philanthropy) · Excellent leadership, interpersonal, sales, presentation and relationship management skills previously demonstrated in the affluent marketplace · Excellent written, verbal, problem solving, and analytical skills 6. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office desktop applications · Ability to travel up to 50% - 75% EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE:Bachelors Degree in business or equivalent business experience. 15 years of leadership experience and proven success in a financial services organization. JD, CTFA, CFP or other related designation preferred. Minimum of 7-10 years of progressively more responsible banking, investment and financial planning related experience with an emphasis on relationship management of complex and sensitive accounts and business development within a similarly complex market.
